The first solar panel installation at Fairfield by Marriott Bali Kuta Sunset Road, in collaboration with Greenvolt Power Indonesia, as part of its commitment to sustainable hospitality.

Fairfield by Marriott Bali Kuta Sunset Road, in partnership with Greenvolt Power Indonesia, reinforces its commitment in sustainable hospitality practices through the installation of rooftop solar power systems at its property for the first time.

The hotel has officially reached the commercial operation date (COD) of a 134.42 kWp solar installation, marking the first solar-powered installation at the hotel as part of Marriott International’s portfolio in Indonesia.

This milestone is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 146,923 kg of CO₂ annually, equivalent to the carbon absorbed by around 3,787 trees annually.

This step represents a concrete action in advancing Marriott International’s global sustainability agenda, Serve 360, that includes continuously minimizing environmental impact through responsible energy use, reducing carbon emissions, and accelerating the adoption of renewable energy across its operations.

Beyond supporting global commitments, this initiative also reflects the growing readiness of Indonesia’s hospitality sector to contribute to international hotel chains, while strengthening its competitiveness. As sustainability becomes an increasingly important priority across the global hospitality industry, hotels in Indonesia are demonstrating their ability to align with international standards and evolving expectations through tangible actions such as renewable energy adoption.

Fairfield by Marriott Bali Kuta Sunset Road General Manager, Eric Gozal, stated, “Following our various environmentally friendly initiatives, such as eliminating single-use plastics, the adoption of solar energy represents our meaningful step in advancing how we manage energy and reduce our environmental footprint.”

Eric Gozal also highlighted how Marriott’s global standards are applied in this transition, “As we work towards our hotel chain standards, we’re glad to have Greenvolt Power Indonesia as our partner. Their global experience helps ensure our global standards are upheld, while making the transition smooth and manageable.”

This project demonstrates Greenvolt Power Indonesia’s long-term commitment to supporting businesses in navigating the renewable energy transition amid global dynamics, through tailored solutions aligned with each business’s specific needs.

Fanny Susanti, Head of Operations of Greenvolt Power Indonesia, stated, “The energy transition among businesses, including in the highly energy-intensive hospitality sector, has become a strategic hedge to ensure long-term business resilience—no longer just an option to go greener. With our global expertise and long-term financial backing, we are proud to support Fairfield in starting their energy transition, providing reliable and sustainable access to renewable energy.”

Looking ahead, Greenvolt Power Indonesia and Fairfield hope this initiative could set the stage for broader adoption of renewable energy across Indonesia’s hospitality sector, contributing to the country’s transition toward a net-zero future.
