At Greenvolt Power, we believe that successful renewable energy development starts with people. That’s why our team had the pleasure of sponsoring and attending this year’s Fayette County 4-H Livestock Auction in Brownstown, Illinois.
Through our participation in the auction, we had the opportunity to give back to several families across the County and meet the hardworking people who help this region thrive.
This annual event is a cornerstone of rural life, dating back to 1899. The 4-H club inspires younger generations to participate in agricultural projects by teaching practical skills like livestock care and animal grooming. But it’s about more than the animals—it’s about learning, taking pride in hard work, and building a strong sense of community.
The 4-H auction represents the finish line for the participants, marking the year of efforts raising the animals – all proceeds from the sale go to the kids and their families to compensate for their supplies, time and effort.
At Greenvolt Power, we deeply respect the agricultural values that shape communities like Fayette County. We understand that rural economies and energy innovation are not mutually exclusive, but rather interdependent. Our mission is to develop projects that honor local identity while introducing new opportunities for growth.
As a renewable energy developer, we recognize the deep connection that agriculture and energy shares, with both sectors depending on the land, local stewardship, and long-term sustainability.
That’s why we believe in supporting the agricultural industry and cultivating relationships with local farmers and ranchers to build a more sustainable future together.
Clean energy transition as an opportunity
To achieve this, we partner with local experts who bring insights into community needs, land use patterns, and regional dynamics. These collaborations ensure that each project is tailored to its surroundings and supports the social and environmental fabric of the area.
We see the clean energy transition as an opportunity to collaborate with the industries that have defined rural America, creating a future that honors the past while moving forward.
As we work through developing our projects across the U.S., we look forward to future opportunities to work with our neighbors and contribute to the growth of rural communities.
Attending events like the 4-H auction is one way we connect with the community by listening, learning, and building relationships grounded in trust. We believe renewable energy should bring real benefits to the communities that host it, and that begins with being an active part of them.
