What is the BUJ BESS project?
The BESS (battery energy storage system) stores electricity and makes it available when it is most needed. In simple terms, it helps balance the electricity system, supports renewable energy production and improves reliability in peak times.
The project received funding under the European Union’s “RRF-6.5.1-23 Deployment of Grid Energy Storage Systems at Energy Market Participants” call for proposals, reinforcing its strategic importance for both the region and the country.
